Thinking about this since last night - I haven't tried the opensource driver mentioned in Jaime's post - and since it hasn't been worked on for some time - I'm not sure it is worth the effort. The main objection I see on the discussions on the net are that the recording funtion in that mode is extremely limited. I don't use it for recording, so it isn't an issue. Other than that - it would continue to operate as an MP3 player.It will require me to drag out my old Windows laptop - the Music Manager program is what is used to change the firmware.
